Huawei is currently preparing to launch one of its lead models; the flagship grade phablet known as the Huawei Mate 10 on October 16 - it'll come in four variants, Huawei Mate 10, Huawei Mate 10 Pro, Huawei Mate 10 Plus, and Huawei Mate 10 Lite. However, Huawei also has a subsidiary firm that produces the Honor brand of smartphones, and a follow-up phone to the Honor 6X is being readied for a launch in October as well.
October 11, specifically, will see the Honor 7X launching, the company confirmed the event in a post on Chinese social network Weibo. The banner features a slogan, which naturally is in Chinese; a rough translation reads "Want to see farther than ordinary people? Higher? Wider? Everywhere is your world."
This could be referring to enhanced camera capabilities, which may or may not involve the Leica branded camera hardware seen on the Huawei Mate and Huawei P flagships.
Alternatively, it may be a reference to the firm's EntireView display brand also seen on those flagships, which is an edge-to-edge 18:9 aspect ratio display keeping up with the trend laid by Samsung, LG, and now Apple with the iPhone X.
Rumoured specs for the Honor 7X include a 5.5in display and Huawei's own Kirin 670 processor, along with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. Typically Honor devices are kept relatively low cost, as the target demographic is decidedly younger; a rumoured RRP bracket in Chinese Yuan translates roughly to between $220 and $270.
