HTC has announced the HTC One A9s at IFA 2016. Below is everything you need to know

HTC has announced a successor to last year’s HTC One A9 handset called the HTC One A9s at IFA 2016.

Like it’s predecessor, from the back the HTC One A9s looks almost identical to Apple’s iPhone 6s. That isn’t us being glib, either. Jut look at the images below — it is EXACTLY the same, down to the camera housing and antenna bands.

The big USP here is the price: HTC will retail the HTC One A9s for a lot less than its current flagship and last year’s One A9; word on the street suggests around £250. HTC will confirm the pricing at a later date.

It’s worth noting the HTC One A9s is larger, thicker and also features a larger battery than its predecessor. The display has also been downgraded from 1080p to 720p, again, likely for reasons relating to either price or battery performance — many both.

The front and rear cameras are also different, as is the CPU which sees Qualcomm usurped in favour of MediaTek. The HTC One A9s uses a MediaTek Helio P10, which is comprised of 4x Cortex A53 @ 2.0 GHz and
4x Cortex A53 @ 1.1 GHz.

The One A9s will be available in Aqua Silver, Cast Iron, and Sand Gold.
