Reckon you could guess what the most popular iPhone model is right now? Most would guess WRONG

The most popular iPhone model currently in use is NOT the iPhone X.

Nope. It’s not even the iPhone 7 or iPhone 8.

So what is it then?

It’s 2014’s INSANELY popular iPhone 6 which has sold in excess of 21% of Apple’s 728 million active iPhones, according to Newzoo Data.

That is a huge number. Even by Apple standards.

So Why Was The iPhone 6 So Popular?

Personally, I think it was because it was the first proper redesign Apple had done to its phone in YEARS.

It also didn’t cost £1000 like the iPhone X does.

And this, combined with the fact the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 looking exactly the same, probably accounts for why there are still so many iPhone 6 units in operation.

I actually still have an iPhone 6 – an iPhone 6 Plus, actually – and it works great.

The battery life has gone a bit squiffy from when it was new, but the handset works pretty darn good given its age.

In this context, I probably wouldn’t upgrade either.

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 were, well… kind of dull. And that’s being kind.

The iPhone X is (whichever you slice it) too expensive for most people to even consider.

So… that leaves millions of people hanging on to their old iPhones.

And that, ladies and gentleman, is why the iPhone 6 is the most popular iPhone model around right now.
