The Galaxy X was tipped to reinvent the mobile phone. The only problem was that it never turned up.
Many believed 2019’s Galaxy S10 release would factor in this new design but that too has now been confirmed as wishful thinking.
Samsung has reportedly completed work on the Galaxy S10’s design and the handset is NOT a foldable phone.
According to reports, the Galaxy S10 will feature an Infinity Display just like the Galaxy S9, though there are expected to be some design changes to its external styling.
I imagine it’ll be thinner and more lightweight. But I definitely do not see Samsung simply rehashing the Galaxy S8’s design language.
How Will It Improve On Samsung Galaxy S9?
One area that is reportedly getting a lot of attention from Samsung is the handset’s imaging.
Samsung is apparently working with an Israeli company, Mantis Vision, in order to make a 3D-sensing camera unit a reality on both the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus models.
A 4K Display?
Samsung has been KILLING IT in the display department for just about as long as anyone can remember.
It is also likely that Samsung will be the first company to bring a proper, 4K OLED display to market.
I know Sony has done this already, but I mean a 4K display that is actually good – and doesn’t kill your battery life.
This could well be Samsung’s biggest USP with the Galaxy S10 – a true 4K OLED display.
Coupled this with a fancy, 3D-sensing camera and the company will have more than enough to come to market with in 2019.
Might It Be Called The Samsung Galaxy X?
This is entirely possible.
X means 10, after all.
And Apple called its latest iPhone the iPhone X, so it is more than possible that Samsung could use this branding for its 10th Galaxy S update.
Either way, we’re not going to know anything definite for A LONG TIME.
Still, the imaging and 4K OLED panel are certainly interesting topics for thought. So too is the idea of a name change.
