We're three days away from OnePlus officially unwrapping the OnePlus 5T at its event in New York, however, the handset has already fallen into the hands of a vlogger, who uploaded his unboxing to Youtube.
The video has since been pulled from Google's platform, but has been re-uploaded to Dailymotion; you can watch it here, but be warned we did get some strange and NSFW "related videos" suggestions after it ended.
The five minute clip shows the handset being unpacked and pretty much reveals everything you might want to know about the phone, although none of it is new to those of us who've been following the rumour trail. As before, the main change is the design, which features a full-front 18:9 aspect ratio display and pushes the fingerprint scanner onto the back panel. The reviewer also mentions a face unlock feature in addition to the fingerprint scanner.
We can see a side-by-side comparison with the OnePlus 5, showing the upper and lower bezels have practically halved in width, while the sides appear to be...about the same as before, actually.
Interestingly, there does seem to be a little homage to OnePlus' origins in there - the handset, at least this sample unit, appears to come bundled in with a bunch of cases in a selection of finishes, including wood. In all likelihood this was just for the reviewers benefit and OnePlus won't be providing every buyer with a full set of cases; but the point is, different material finish cases appear to be on the way for the OnePlus 5T.
