Nokia has revealed a special event taking place on August 21 and it'll see the reveal of what the teaser described as the "most awaited phone", which can pretty much only mean one thing from Nokia's rumoured handsets; the Nokia 9.
The firm took to Twitter to reveal the event for next Tuesday, with a promotional image showing a mysterious handset lurking in the shadows. While it's not a dead certainty this will be the Nokia 9, that particular handset has been rumoured for a VERY long time, and repeatedly leaked in such a way to prove that, yes, it is real and has been in-development in Nokia/HMD's labs.
"We are thrilled to bring you the Nokia smartphones event for one of the most awaited phones on Tuesday 21st August. Stay tuned for more! #Nokiamobile #BringItOn"
Nokia 9 Rumoured Spec & Feature Recap
There hasn't been a lot of talk of the Nokia 9 recently, what with distractions from Android Pie, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, OnePlus 6, and continued rumours of Apple's soon-to-launch iPhone 2019 range, amongst many others.
So to bring you back up to speed on the Nokia 9, it's thought to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, stacks of RAM (4GB/6GB) and storage (64GB/128GB), and possibly an OLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The design is expected to be similar to the Nokia 8 but possibly a bit larger and with an 18:9 edge-to-edge display. Waterproofing has also been tipped.
Being Nokia, the phone is also expected to pack an amazing Carl Zeiss branded set of imaging hardware. It seems hard to imagine it won't be at least a dual-sensor arrangement, with either 12MP and 13MP or dual-13MP combos both being rumoured. Android 9 Pie running from the get-go also seems pretty likely.
Previous rumours did point to a September 2018 launch around IFA, but it seems with this new reveal event Nokia is going to reveal things a little earlier.
