November 2, when the HTC U11 Plus is expected to land, is not far off now, but reliable Twitter source Evan Blass, aka @evleaks, has tipped the colours we will see the phone launched in, including a brand new one.
Blass Tweeted we could expect to see the HTC U11 Plus, or "HTC U11+", as he named it, wearing black and silver colour variants, but added a third dubbed "translucent". The HTC U11 already comes in silver, black, blue, white, and red, all with a high-shine, mirror-finish gloss effect to the bodywork which some rumours have said will make a return on the Plus model.
"HTC U11+ colors: black, silver, translucent." - Evan Blass, aka @evleaks.
It's not clear what the translucent colour option will look like, but commenters on Twitter have said they doubt it will be truly see-through and more likely some kind of multi-layered depth effect similar to what we've seen Huawei pull off on the Honor series in the past. Don't expect to see the phone's innards through the back panel, but we could see some very interesting shimmering or crystal-like effect with textured under-layers.
Here's the Honor 8 to illustrate what I mean...
Others have speculated a frosted matte finish on the top layer, perhaps in a bid to appease those like us who didn't like the HTC U11's ultra-bling mirror shine.
