The wait is almost over for Google’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL handsets; both launch later this year, but if you simply cannot wait, you might want to check out this unboxing.
The images were shared by blogger Ivan Luchkov and show the Google Pixel 3 XL in all its glory. As expected, the handset has a notch and a massive, all-front display.
This is our first, proper look at the Google Pixel 3 XL and, as a long time Pixel user, I have to say I am mightily impressed. The phone looks great.
Pixel 3 XL Specs
- OS: Android 9 Pie
- RAM: 3.46GB
- Display PPI: 494
- Resolution: 1440 x 2960
As you can see, the Pixel 3 XL features a notch, as expected, but Google has also kept a fairly big wedge of space at the bottom free for microphones.
This isn’t unexpected, but after all the flack Google got for the design of the Pixel 2, I figured its sandwich-style bezel days were behind it. Guess not!
Google PixelBuds 2
As rumored, Google will also ship the Pixel 3 XL with a free pair of it PixelBuds, most likely the second generation PixelBuds 2, which also appear to be wired.
Does that mean Google’s bringing back the headphone jack? Maybe. Though they could just as easily run on USB C, so don’t get your hopes up!
The original PixelBuds really did suck, so here’s hoping the second-generation models are A LOT better.
There have been a few reports about Google’s Pixel Buds 2, but nothing too concrete.
Google Pixel 3 XL Release Date?
All rumors seem to point to October 4th for a release date for Google’s third generation Pixel phones.
There has been no mention of pricing just yet, but one can expect to pay around the same (or more) for these phones as the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, meaning they’ll likely be pretty pricey.
Unless, of course, there is a cheaper Pixel 3 model…
