And that’s probably for the best given some of the issues that have plagued them.
I have both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL and my Pixel 2 XL crapped out of existence about six months ago; one day it just stopped working.
It’s now just an expensive brick.
I have no idea what happened, but it won’t charge, nor will it switch on. It’s dead and it ain’t coming back.
Pixel 2 Lag Issues
And now it seems whatever bugs Google has in its system have spread to the Pixel 2.
Multiple users are now reporting “lagging issues” with the Pixel 2. Most notably Android Police’s founder and YouTube reviewer Marquees Brownlee, who has now switched the OnePlus 6.
The lag bug – or system slow down, or whatever it is – is pretty brutal. According to tweets from Artem Russakovskii, the man behind Android Police, the Pixel 2 XL is taking around 10 seconds to load the camera app.
And then another 10 seconds to switch to the video app inside the camera app.
Obviously, this is no good. I feel there pain, after retiring my Pixel 2 XL from active duty earlier in the year, following its spontaneous internal destruction.
Other Notable Google Pixel 2 Problems & Issues
The problems listed above, however, are just the tip of the iceberg. Beyond this, Google has experienced issues with its camera app, the display, the phone’s speaker, and its USC C port.
The USB C port was the first thing to go wrong on my Pixel 2 XL, meaning I couldn’t listen to music in my car (or charge the phone).
I managed to fix this, but then it finally just crapped out and died altogether.
I have to say, out of all the Pixel phones I’ve used – and I’ve used all of them – this generation is BY FAR the most buggy.
Let’s hope Google can sort this out for the release of the Google Pixel 3!
