Andy Rubin's Essential Phone - aka the PH-1 - didn't exactly make the splash the co-creator of Android might've hoped for, but part of that might've been due to the price point of $699.
If you've been eyeballing the Essential Phone but weren't keen on parting with much cash to grab one - and you live in the US - now might be a good time to pull the trigger.
Essential PH-1 Price SLASHED
Reason being, the price has now been cut significantly via retailer Amazon; you can pick one up via the mail order giant for a mere $224; that's the lowest price it has ever had since launch.
There are a few perks with the Essential Phone as well. It runs stock Android, but also it's already on Android Pie, aka Android 9.0, as it was updated literally day one that Pie dropped, alongside Google's own Pixel phones. No-one else is really that fast at new Android updates, and it's not the first time Essential's done it either.
This low price will net you either the Ceramic or Titanium colour options with 128GB onboard storage, 4GB RAM, and a 5.7in edge-to-edge IPS LCD with a 2560 x 1312 resolution. Oh and it's got a Snapdragon 835. There's also a dual-13MP primary camera which Essential has already tweaked a few times for the better via software updates.
The handset purchased via Amazon will be unlocked and has a full warranty, plus free shipping.
