Xiaomi has pretty much ZERO presence in the US. In fact, outside its native China, the company’s phones are pretty much found nowhere.
Xiaomi is still one of the biggest phone makers on the plant, such is the power of China’s native market.
Well, Xiaomi has just announced a new phone brand – a sub-brand, if you will. And it’s called Poco F1.
Poco F1 Specs
The Poco F1 is the first of its kind from Xiaomi’s new phone brand, and its specs are INSANE.
Even more so when you consider the retail price of the phone – around $300.
“Looking through the specs,” notes 9to5Google, “it’s a flagship-worthy package headlined by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.”
It added: “On top of that, there’s 6GB or 8GB of RAM, between 64GB and 256GB(!) of storage, a 4,000 mAh battery, headphone jack, Android 8.1 Oreo, and USB-C. Up front is also a 6.18-inch FHD notched display and a 20MP selfie camera, as well as a 12MP/5MP rear camera setup.”
That’s pretty much as good as any first-rate Android flagship around right now.
And it costs just $300 – that’s more than 60% less than anything from Samsung and Google.
The Pocophone F1 is also made from plastic, something we seldom see anymore. Guess this is where they made the bulk of the savings which helped keep the price so low.
Poco F1 Release Date
The Poco F1 WILL NOT get be getting a release date in the US or UK anytime soon.
Though it will be available in a few regions outside of China.
