Xiaomi has confirmed that it is branching out into Europe, starting with Spain

Xiaomi is one of the biggest phone makers in China. Often called the Apple of The East, Xiaomi makes excellent Android phones with great specs and design, and then sells that at frankly insanely low price points.

And now, after years of speculation about it expanding its reach, Xiaomi has confirmed that it will FINALLY release its phones outside its native China. And it will do so first in Spain.

“The Chinese manufacturer is holding an event in Madrid, Spain,” notes Android Police, “announcing the availability of a pair of their hottest Android devices: the Mi Mix 2 and Mi A1. The Mi Mix garnered plenty of attention after being one of the first to feature non-existent bezels on 3 of its sides. With a stunning, premium design and flagship specs, the Mi Max is a great value at €499. The A1, well, it’s an Android One mid-ranger that should appeal to budget-conscious buyers, priced at just €229.”

Online sales kick off today, so users interested in picking up one of the phones can do so via the following places:

  • mi.com/es
  • amazon.es

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 and Mi A1 will also be available in-store at the following locations: Media Markt, Phone House, and Carrefour. Xiaomi also plans on opening two retail stores in Madrid as well on November 11, where you will be able to buy a range of the company’s products.

Xiaomi makes A LOT of products, not just phones, so Spanish users will have plenty of cool stuff to look at and potentially buy.

The entry of Xiaomi into Europe is significant, as it is the first time you can officially buy one of the company’s handsets outside of India or China. How long before it makes a similar move in the UK? Surely not too long now!
