Drones are one of the fastest growing consumer segments around right now. But where are the best places to buy drones online?

AR.Drone 2.0

Drones are the latest thing. People from all walks of life are using them for shooting video, capturing holidays, and making YouTube content. Even shows like Top Gear now leverage drones instead of helicopters for capturing aerial footage.

That’s right: in TV and movies, drones are fast becoming the norm with respect to shooting epic aerial footage. The reason? Simple: they’re a lot cheaper to run than a helicopter and they do just as good a job – better in some cases.

The drones used by the military, movie studios, and the BBC might be a little out of your price bracket, but that doesn’t mean you’re limited for options when it comes to capturing excellent aerial footage in the highest of resolutions.

In fact, there are TONS of drones around that will shoot in either 1080p or 4K that can be hand for pretty respectable prices. We already have a guide to the best drones money can buy, so check that out for some ideas on what you can get for your money.

Today, however, we’re going to be looking at the best places to buy drones online. If you’re new to the market, you might not be aware of all the places you can buy drones. This is why we put together this article – to point you in the direction of the best, most reputable drone retailers.

Let’s do this.

Amazon

Yep – Amazon. It’s the biggest retailer on the planet, so we’d be remiss to not include it on this list. Amazon stocks HUNDREDS of drone models across a variety of price points and is, therefore, an ideal starting point for novices operating on a limited budget.

If you have prime, a lot of the options will come with free, next day delivery. In addition to this, Black Friday 2017 is fast approaching and there should be some seriously tasty deals on drones during this period, so stay tuned for that.

With Amazon, you also get peer reviews too, so you can make a better decision about your purchase.

Drones Etc.

Drones Etc. is run by two drone enthusiasts. Set up in 2013, Drones Etc. has gone on to win awards (Shopify Build A Business Competition) and is regarded as one of the best places to buy drones on the planet.

They offer a HUGE range of drones across a variety of price points, as well as financing packages for the more pricey units. This means you can spread the cost of an investment over 12-24 months. Handy if you’re going for a more professional model.

They also do repairs. Basically, if you’re interested in drones, you need Drones Etc. on your radar.

Banggood

Banggood looks and feels like Amazon. Just smaller. Banggood sells a range of drones, again, across a variety of price points.

What I really like about Banggood is that they stock plenty of affordable options. I also love the extensive user reviews on the site – these are great when you’re making a decision.

UAV Direct

UAV Direct specialise in DJI Phantom sales, so if you’re after one of these types of drones, UAV is the place to go. They do repairs, will match the price offered by any other retailer (if you find DJI drones cheaper as well), and the store is run by experienced drone experts.

UAV Direct are also active members of the drone industry, pushing to make the technology easier to use and more accessible. They’re great if you have questions too, so if you’re looking for answers about your potential purchase, this is the place to go.

DroneFly

DroneFly is all about speed – speedy deliveries, speedy service, speedy answers to any questions you might have. It also has a rather extensive collection of drones on offer as well. And they ship globally.

Like UAV Direct, DroneFly also does DJI Phantom repairs too alongside a supplementary 30-minute tech support service, which is great for anyone that has questions about their drone and how to use it.
