OnePlus is entering the wireless headphone market with the OnePlus Bullets Wireless

The OnePlus 6 has been on the market for not too long, but the company has now added to its 2018 product portfolio with the release of the Limited Edition Silk White colour variant and a brand new accessory - a set of wireless earbud (in-ear) headphones dubbed the OnePlus Bullets Wireless. Both these new products began sales on June 5.

The OnePlus Bullets have already sold out in Europe, within three minutes of going on sale! OnePlus CEO Carl Pei revealed the news in a Tweet and said that the firm is seeking to replenish stock in the region "ASAP".

The headphones are listed on OnePlus' own webstore with an RRP of £69, $69 or €69.

KYM was lucky enough to have a brief hands-on with the Bullets ahead of launch, with the headset sporting some pretty innovative features.

While the headset connects to your phone via Bluetooth 4.1, there are wires involved, connecting both earbuds to a controller and a neck-yoke which houses the battery cells. OnePlus says they're designed for "durability and comfort". As far as the latter is concerned this is certainly true, they're made from lightweight aluminium and are nice and snug in the ear. It also has a relaxed fit on the neck, where the battery compartment rests.

A built-in microphone and hand-operated controller mean you can use the Bullets for music, calls, and Google Assistant, while the whole setup is water resistant, though OnePlus warns it'll be fine for a sudden downpour, but not for swimming with.

One of the coolest features is the magnet embedded in the earbuds, this clamps them together when not in use. But there's more to it than that as OnePlus has incorporated a magnetic control feature - clipping the earbuds together with the magnet will automatically pause whatever content you're listening to without you having to press a button or faff with an application interface. Likewise, pulling the earbuds apart from each other will resume playback once again.

The headset charges via Type-C USB. OnePlus says a full charge will give you eight hours of music playback, while a 10-minute boost charge will give you five hours.
