The OnePlus 5T will allegedly not see a price hike over the OnePlus 5's RRP

The OnePlus 5T will launch very soon at an event in New York on November 16 - it'll be live streamed around the world but anyone in the area a the time can buy tickets in advance from OnePlus and attend! The handset will then go on sale from November 21.

According to a new report, the OnePlus 5T will not see a price hike up from the regular OnePlus 5 - to be clear, it's alleged it will cost exactly the same. The word comes from TechRadar, which says that although each successive generation of OnePlus flagship has seen a price increase, it will not happen with the OnePlus 5T.

TechRadar claims to have "seen confidential documentation that shows the price of the OnePlus 5T is set to stay the same in the UK."

"The documents show the price of buying the phone through a business on O2's network, but the price listed is the same amount as it was for the OnePlus 5 - suggesting it will stay the same for consumers too."

Previously when OnePlus launched the OnePlus 3T, the OnePlus 3 was discontinued and the OnePlus 3T replaced it in the firm's range; we suspect the same will happen with the OnePlus 5T.

Currently the price of the OnePlus 5 128GB is about £540 in the UK and $539 in the US. The 64GB edition is somewhat elusive in the UK but in the US is priced at $479. While pricing outside the UK for the OnePlus 5T isn't confirmed by this report, it does state that it's unlikely OnePlus would keep the pricing the same in only one territory. We're inclined to agree.

The report goes on to add that the source indicates both 64GB and 128GB storage editions of the OnePlus 5T; there's no mention of a 256GB version.
