The Nokia 2 retails for just €99 and it has one of the biggest battery cells we’ve ever seen in a phone

The Nokia 2 will join Nokia’s steadily growing lineup of Android phones. Like its predecessors, the Nokia 2 is very price competitive, runs Android Nougat in a stock configuration, and sports Nokia’s now familiar industrial design.

But it does have another, major USP in the form of a truly gargantuan battery cell. Yep, at 4100mAh, it is one of the biggest battery packs around right now and it should deliver incredible battery performance.

The Nokia 2 is a budget entry phone, so it’s not designed to go toe-to-toe with the Samsung Galaxy S8 or iPhone X, but what it will do is deliver truly exceptional battery performance. On top of this, the Nokia 2 also runs Android Nougat in stock configuration as well, so there’s no bloatware and performance should be pretty decent.

This is a super-budget phone that offers up some very decent USPs. Things like Android Nougat and battery power of this magnitude simply are not available on handsets costing less than €99.

Nokia is going after a very interesting niche here; it’s positioning its brand in a segment often ignored by the bigger players like Samsung and Apple.

A €99 phone that runs Android Nougat and has all-day battery will be hugely popular in emerging markets like India, where money is tight but demand for decent hardware and software is high.

If this tactic pays off, it could make Nokia A LOT of new friends in one of the biggest cell phone spaces on the planet. Not to mention other, similar regions like Brazil and parts of Africa.

Nokia 2 Specs: 5-inch LCD screen with 1280 x 720 resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, 8-megapixel camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and dual SIM support.

The Nokia 2 might get Android Oreo as well; Nokia has said that it plans on bringing the update to ALL its phones in 2018.

The Nokia 2 is not the best Nokia Android phone you can buy right now, but it is certainly the cheapest and it will almost certainly have the best battery life of all Nokia Android phones.

So if you’re in the market for a bargain, the Nokia 2 could well be just what the doctor ordered.
