Apple's iPhone pre-orders are now available for Upgrade Program members in the US

Supply is sure to be short, but if you're part of Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program in the US you're now able to pre-order an iPhone X, ahead of the official date that everyone else can pre-order one, which is Friday 27 October.

The news comes courtesy of Twitter tipster Sam Sheffer, who noted in a Tweet that "pre-approval for iPhone X Apple Upgrade Program is accessible in the Apple Store app."

"Do this now so Friday AM is a breeze," he added.

Basically you can go through the process of pre-ordering the iPhone X and then use the Apple Store to complete the transaction as an upgrade. You'll have to confirm your eligibility to upgrade, pick a colour and storage option, and then get preapproved for the iPhone Upgrade Program loan.

A reminder though, Apple is still reportedly having supply issues and hasn't shipped many units to the US just yet - they are going to sell out FAST, so if you want to get one this is probably the surest route. But you REALLY need to be, as we say in the UK "on it like a car bonnet", get that clicker finger ready for early morning Friday!
