US Netflix in the UK? iPlayer in the US? Yep – it’s time you got yourself a VPN

If you like watching TV on the go, things like iPlayer, Netflix and Hulu but don’t like all this regional and international licensing nonsense, then you need to get yourself a VPN.

Why? Simple: a VPN lets you change the country your mobile, PC or laptop thinks its in – simple enough, really.

The actual science behind how it does this is a lot more complex, but for the layman all you need to know is that if you have a VPN running on your phone/tablet/PC in London you can set it so your device thinks it is in New York.

This obviously works the other way around as well, so if you’re in New York but you want to watch iPlayer, for instance, you can simply set your VPN to London and you’ll receive UK TV.

I’ve written at length about why everybody should use VPNs, so I won’t bore you with the details of that all over again. But suffice to say that if you want to browse safety and securely you should be using a VPN .

I use Nord VPN, personally.
