After small price tags and MASSIVE specs? Look no further – the Honor 6X is here

Huawei’s Honor brand has grown considerably during the past 24 months. Championing value for money and utility, the brand has proved popular both in the UK and the US. And now it’s time for the company’s next instalment: the Honor 6X.

The Honor 6X just got official at CES 2017 and while it is positioned as a mid-range handset, below that of the Honor 8, for instance, do not let its small price tag put you off – this phone is a beast.

For starters, you get the amazing octa-core Kirin 655 processor, 32GB of memory with a microSD slot, a 12MP dual-camera (the other’s a 2MP unit), an 8MP on the front, fingerprint scanner, 3GB of RAM and a 5.5in 1080p display.

Those are some impressive specs. Even more so when you factor in the $250 asking price for the handset.

Make no mistake: this thing looks and feels like a high-end device. And for all intents and purposes it really is; you have a dual-lens camera, tons of RAM, plenty of storage and a gorgeous design.

What more could you want?

Well, one thing… Android Nougat. The Honor 6X was announced with Android 6.0 and Huawei’s lumpy EMUI 4.1 UX layered on top of it. This the only real downside to an otherwise banging handset from Honor.

The Honor 6X goes on sale tomorrow in the US and, in a bid to rustle up some sales, Honor is doing a flash sale where you can pick the handset up for $199.99.

That’s a remarkably low price for a handset that is packing iPhone 7-beating specs and hardware.

If you’re looking for an early bargain in 2017, the Honor 6X might just be the handset you’ve been waiting for.
