Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ this week. And now you can download the handset’s new wallpapers

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are official, and while they may look and feel A LOT like last year’s models, there are some significant changes – changes you can read about here.

Incremental is the word of the day, however, and that’s OK. The Galaxy S8 was a fine-looking handset. Still is. And with this in mind, it’s easy to forgive Samsung for not introducing arbitrary design changes just for the sake of doing it.

One thing most don’t ever think about is wallpaper. I never do. But Samsung has now released its official Samsung Galaxy S9 wallpapers, so you can download them and run them on your iPhone X or Pixel 2 XL – or whatever handset you’re rocking right now.

Like the Galaxy S9, the wallpapers are minimalist, tasteful, and rather pretty. If you’re after something subtle for your lock and home screen, you could do far worse than one of these new wallpapers, which you can download here.

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will go up for pre-order in March, earlier pre-orders units will ship on the 6th, and the handset will be widely available at the end of the month. Price-wise, you’re looking at £739 for the Galaxy S9 and £869 for the Galaxy S9+.

The Galaxy S9+ features a slightly larger battery, more RAM, and a better camera that comes with a sweet telephoto-lens for super-detailed zoomed in shots and better bokeh effects when shooting portrait shots. Other than this, the phones are pretty much identical – and that’s a good thing, indeed.

Here’s the official line via Samsung from launch:

“The way we use our smartphones has changed as communication and self-expression has evolved,” said DJ Koh, president and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division, Samsung Electronics. “With the Galaxy S9 and S9+, we have reimagined the smartphone camera. Not only do the Galaxy S9 and S9+ enable consumers to shoot great photos and videos anywhere, it’s a smartphone that’s designed to help them connect to others and express themselves in a way that’s unique and personal to them.”
