MicroSD cards are immensely useful, providing your phone supports them. Below are our favourite models and brands

If you’re fortunate enough to have a phone that supports microSD cards then you don’t need me to tell you just how useful these magical little things are.

Apple and Google has always traditionally ignored microSD cards, and for this reason, though mostly because of Apple, a lot of phone users have not experienced the joys of expandable storage on their phones.

A lot of Android handsets back in the day carried SD-support but then, around 2013/14, they went out of fashion. Samsung notably dropped SD-support on its Galaxy handsets, as well as removable batteries, and this angered a lot of Samsung’s hardcore fans.

Fortunately, a lot of phones released in 2016/17 now feature microSD support and the reason for this is simple: users like them and microSD cards are now a lot more sophisticated than they used to be.

You can also use these microSD cards in drones, action cameras and tablets and DSLRs.

But what are the best options on market right now? Glad you asked! Here’s my pick of the best value SD cards you buy right now.

I’ve kept this list deliberately short to avoid confusion, as there are quite literally hundreds of models out there. So rather than listing a ton of them I have limited this list to the absolute best of the best microSD cards.
