Apple's content for iPhones and iPads will go up in price in line with exchange rates

Apple iPhone and iPad users in the UK are about to see the prices of their apps, games, and content go up by 25%, Apple has confirmed.

The UK is one of Apple's largest markets; globally the App Store has yielded 60% year-on-year growth and a revenue of $5.4bn by Q4 2016. However, with the decrease in the value of Sterling following the Brexit vote, and the resulting change in the exchange rate, prices will now rise 25%, reveals 9To5Mac.

Currently an app that costs $0.99 in the US costs Brits £0.79, but will go up to £0.99. This will apply across the board, although Apple hasn't specified anything about the iTunes catalogue of ebooks, TV, music, and movies, it seems highly likely this will also be affected.

Apple states that the changes will rollout in the next seven days and it has begun notifying developers for the iOS and Mac App Store.
