Want flagship specs, design and features for WELL under $300? You NEED to check out the ZTE Axon 7 then…

The OnePlus 3T has been grabbing all the headlines of late with its low-end price tag and amazing specs. The OnePlus brand is very strong and has been for a good couple of years now, showing just how much demand there is for low-cost, high-end Android phones.

But OnePlus isn’t the only game in town when it comes to offering-up jaw-dropping Android phones at bargain basement prices. Nope – ZTE is getting in on the action as well with its ZTE Axon 7 handset, which looks, feels and sounds like a flagship in every conceivable way.

The only difference between the ZTE Axon 7 and other, more premium flagships like the Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE is its price – you can pick one up in the US for under $300 and in the UK for around £250. And when you find out what’s going on inside this handset you will agree that this price tag is hugely impressive.

ZTE Axon 7 Design

First, let’s take a look at the design of this handset. Constructed entirely from metal and featuring front-facing speakers, the ZTE Axon 7 is a stunning handset to behold. It looks like something HTC used to make back when it had some decent designers on its payroll. I love how this handset looks; it’d look great at any price.

I mean, just look at that styling and finish!

ZTE Axon 7 Specs & Hardware

Next up, specs and hardware. This is where things go from good to extremely impressive. The ZTE Axon 7 features a 5.5in QHD AMOLED display (that trumps the OnePlus 3T big time), 4GB/6GB of RAM, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 CPU and, a rather game-changing, standard 64GB of internal storage, as well as support for SD cards.

What you’re looking at there is pretty much high-end, flagship specs – the type usually found inside $500-$600 phones from Apple, Samsung and Google. And that, for me, is one hell of an impressive feat for ZTE, a brand I’d all but forgotten about!

Other notable features include: 20MP camera with phase detection autofocus, OIS, and dual-LED (dual tone) flash; Fast battery charging; 32-bit/192kHz audio with Dolby Atmos audio enhancement; and, finally, a suitably large 3250mAh battery.

And did I mention the price? You can have all this for around half the price of a base model iPhone 7…

Excellent stuff, ZTE.
