Spec and hardware details for the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6 and Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus leak online

Everybody knows Xiaomi. The Chinese tech company has made a huge name for itself in recent years by creating stunning Android phones with killer specs and releasing them for around half the price of an iPhone.

Often referred to as The Apple of China, Xiaomi has developed fast since it first entered the fray – it now makes a plethora of products, including hybrid laptops and stunning HDTVs.

But most know Xiaomi for its Mi series Android phones. The Xiaomi Mi 4 and Xiaomi Mi 5 secured the company a lot of friends by taking the specs found in the latest Samsung and Apple phones, placing them in a beautifully designed phone, and then selling them for next to nothing.

The Xiaomi Mi 5, for instance, had a spec sheet that read like a $700 phone but it retailed for under $300.

Xiaomi products are now easier to buy as well, thanks to retailers like GearBest, who has large depots in the US and Europe. This means nowadays punters in the US and UK can buy Xiaomi phones. And this is great news for those looking for value for money.

Xiaomi Mi 6 – 2017’s Incoming Flagship

Xiaomi will apparently announce the Xiaomi Mi 6 on April 11.

There is already a lot of interest and hype around this handset. For obvious reasons. But now we’ve got our first look at the Xiaomi Mi 6 and Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus’ spec sheet.

So what’s the craic this time around?

Xiaomi Mi 6 Specs & Hardware

  • Display: 5.15in 1080p
  • Camera: 19MP Sony IMX400 (1/2.3in lens)
  • RAM: 4GB/6GB
  • Storage: 32/64/128GB
  • Battery: 3200mAh
  • SD-Card: Yes
  • OS: Android 6.0 (MIUI)

Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus Specs & Hardware

  • Display: 5.7in 1080p

  • RAM: 6GB
  • Storage: 64/128GB

The one odd thing out of all these specs is that the Plus model is running Android N, while the standard Mi 6 is running Android 6. I don’t get why this would be the case?

Everything else looks very tasty though. Especially on the Plus model which has a brilliant, dual-lens camera, a huge battery and 6GB of RAM.

We’ll keep you posted as more updates land.
