All the best Kodi box options for 2017 in one place.

If you haven’t yet experienced Kodi, where have you been? The open-source media streaming software has grown in popularity over the past two years and now used by millions of people all over the globe.

Kodi, at its core, is a media streaming platform. It has apps like Netflix and the like but you can also access additional content by downloading add-ons, though some aren’t exactly legal.

Like PirateBay and most torrent sites, Kodi has come under increased scrutiny in recent times. The problem arises when people use illegal add-ons to get access to content that is protected either by licensing agreements (Sky Sports, HBO stuff) or isn’t yet available officially (movies still in the cinema, for instance).

Basically, if you’re using Kodi it’s up to you to use it properly. And, if you do decide to use illegal add-ons, make sure you’re aware of the consequences which can be pretty significant if you’re caught out.

Right: enough fear mongering. What are the best Kodi boxes you can buy right now?

Best Kodi Box 2017

Amazon Fire TV / Amazon Fire TV Stick

Amazon’s Fire TV is a great little setup for accessing Kodi, as it’s dirt cheap, packed with decent features and, if you’re already a Prime subscriber, tons of great content. Click here for information on how to install Kodi on Amazon's Fire Stick

I’ve had one since it first came out, and while I do also have a Chromecast, I tend to use my Amazon Fire TV stick way more because I prefer Amazon’s selection of movies and TV shows and because it supports Kodi.

The Amazon Fire TV is slightly more expensive at £79, so if you’re operating on a budget you’ll want to go for the Amazon Fire Stick, which is significantly cheaper but equally competent.

NVIDIA Shield

The NIVIDA Shield is arguably the best all-round device on this list. The Shield is jam-packed with bleeding-edge specs and this makes for one hell of an experience when using the device.

You can game with it, stream content with it and you can install Kodi on it and all these factors combined make the NVIDIA Shield TV easily one of the best Kodi box options on the market right now.

Razor Forge TV

Razor cut its teeth in the high-end gaming market, so when you’re buying a product from them you know you’re in for a treat. The Razor Forge TV is no exception to this rule with its frankly insane 2.7 GHZ quad-core processor.

Performance is off the charts with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. And, like the NVIDIA Shield TV, it also ships with a controller. But the best part of all is that you can pick one up for A LOT less than the Shield at around £80.

The only real downside to the Razor Forge TV is that it doesn’t feature support for 4K. Still… at £100 cheaper than the NVIDIA Shield TV, this is still easily one of the best Kodi box options on market right now.
