Netflix for Android has now updated with support for offline content on microSD cards

Following the update to the Netlfix application suite on Android and iOS which allowed users to download and store content on their  devices for viewing offline, there is now a second update for Android allowing users to store this offlien content to microSD cards.

The initial update was warmly received as it brings Netflix's service in line with content on rival platforms such as Google Play Movies & TV and Amazon Video, and of course, on all such services, you can't always guarauntee you're going to be connected to the web. Tube trains between stations, trains going into tunnels, or just general patchy areas cutting off 4G, or poorly supplied Wi-Fi, are all annoying intrusions to your streaming while out and about. Being able to download and store the next episode of your favourite series, or a handful of films for international travel, are a boon by themselves, but become even more flexible for Android users with the ability to store on microSD. They're not limited by what may be quite a small amount of onboard storage, and can hot-swap multiple cards with different content on the move. Of course, there's no such perk for Apple iOS devices as these never have microSD slots, but the offline storage via onboard memory still applies.

The update has been pushed to Google Play as of January 24 and you can identify it as version 4.13.0 and build 14540. Naturally if you install Netflix straight up it'll be this version, but if you already have the application installed just go into Google Play> My Apps, find and tap Netflix, then tap "Update" to get the brand new latest version with all the new perks.
