Xiaomi has made a name for itself by building stunning looking handsets and selling them at insanely low prices. The company, often called “The Apple of China”, is now one of the most vibrant technology brands on the planet.

But it builds much more than just phones.

Like Apple, it also builds laptops and tablets, but it also makes all kinds of accessories and other useful gizmos, so if you’re in the market for some high-quality but super affordable tech you definitely need to be following Xiaomi.

The firm makes headphones, routers, smart lights, connected home gear, fitness bands, fitness trackers and even action cams which function like GoPro units but cost MUCH less. Hell, they even make clothes!

I want to start saving a lot of cash in 2017/18. My aim to to reign in my spending and add some bulk to my savings and investments. I like technology, though, and technology, as we know, can be expensive, so I started looking elsewhere for the things I need.

Places like GearBest, for instance, which is basically the best place to buy Xiaomi products if you’re in the UK or US – or anywhere in the west, basically – are great for those operating on a budget, as you can pick up tech at very low prices. Especially Xiaomi technology.

And this got me thinking: could you do ALL your technology shopping inside the Xiaomi ecosystem? Maybe.

Xiaomi Phones

Xiaomi makes an extensive range of phones from the ultra-cheap, but super-powerful Xiaomi Mi5, right up to the iPhone 8-beating (in terms of design, anyway) Xiaomi Mi Mix, which will cost you a fair amount of cash if you want it.

Right now you can pick up the Xiaomi Mi5 (a 64GB version) with 29% off the usual RRP, which brings the price down to $265. And for $265, you’re getting A LOT of phone.

I mean just check out the Xiaomi Mi5 specs:

Xiaomi Tablets

Xiaomi has a range of tablets on offer, but some of the best it makes are its Windows 10-powered units.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2, which retails for $244.83, features Windows 10, an Intel Atom X5-Z8500 64bit Quad Core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a HD display and a HUGE 6190mAh battery.

Granted, the CPU could be better and you’d definitely want more RAM if you were using this thing for work, but for the price that is an exceptional bit of kit.

Xiaomi Laptops

If you know what you’re doing with a laptop, you can pretty much do anything with a Windows 10-powered PC. You can swap out the software, run it as-is, or tinker with the internal spec if that’s your thang.

And if you’re looking for an ultra-affordable Windows 10 laptop that looks a hell of a lot like Apple’s new MacBook line of laptops, you need to take a look at the Xiaomi Air 12 laptop, which retails for just $589.99.

You will need to tinker with this thing; change the language for one, but that’s easy enough if you know what you’re doing. And to be honest, for the price I’d be more than willing to learn the necessary know-how to get it displaying English. It looks awesome.

And the specs aren’t bad, either:

This is the coolest one I’ve seen so far, based purely on looks. But there are LOADS more to choose from. And most ship with English versions of Windows 10 – just make sure to check that before you complete a purchase!

Beyond phones, tablets and laptops, Xiaomi also builds speakers, fitness trackers, routers and pretty much everything else in between. I was blown away by just how much stuff the company makes and for how little cost it often retails these products for.
