It’s almost TIME for the Huawei P10… and it’s sounding like it was definitely worth the wait

Samsung will release its Galaxy S8 in a few weeks time. Then there will be the LG G6 and a new flagship phone from HTC. But there is another phone you need to be aware of this flagship season.

The Huawei P10, which is starting to sound like a HUGE update on last year’s already impressive Huawei P9.

The Huawei P10 will feature a brand new design, according to reports, as well as a bunch of new colour options, including: gold, green and blue.

Huawei made a lot of friends with its Nexus 6P. It then made some more with the excellent Huawei P9 and P9 Plus. The Huawei Mate 8 and Huawei Mate 9 were also hugely impressive handsets, cementing the company’s pedigree in the hearts and minds of a lot of consumers.

In 2017, however, things will shift gears once again as we move towards the official announcement of Huawei’s 2017 flagship phone – the Huawei P10.

There have been a few leaks about about the phone so far, but the most interesting is that it will pack in a WHOPPING 8GB of RAM. That is a huge amount of memory, even by 2017 standards.

Beyond this the Huawei P10 is expected to feature a 5.5in QHD display, Huawei’s excellent Kirin 960 chipset, Android 7.0 Nougat, a 12MP camera and a big ass battery for increased longevity.

Leaked pricing for the handset suggests it could retail for around €799, or about $850, at launch, making it one of the most expensive handsets Huawei has ever produced.

There’s no way to know whether or not these prices are legit at present, as they’re not official numbers. But given the spec and positioning of the handset it won’t likely be far off. Also: phones in 2017 will likely be very expensive – Apple’s top of the range iPhone is expected to retail for more than $1000/£1000.

Samsung will almost certainly follow-suit with higher prices in order to cover the losses it made in 2016 with its Galaxy Note 7 debacle.

If you’d like to see what the Huawei 10 might look like, check out the video below which features renders of the handset based on current leaks and rumours.

The Huawei P10 is expected to launch at MWC 2017, which kicks off very soon!
