The Honor 9 Will Arrive Mid-June For $362

Details of a new Honor 9 flagship have leaked online, along with a release date for June, said to be either June 20 or June 21. The source also reveals a rumoured RRP of around $362.

We're rather fond of the Honor series here at KYM. Honor is an off-shoot brand of Huawei. Huawei's seperate Honor team designs and develops the Honor handsets, while Huawei ends up producing them, and they frequently run the same Huawei EMUI seen on Huawei's regular devices.

The Honor brand is aimed largely at the younger generation, and as such is frequently postioned as a more affordable option in the market, but Honor does a good job of squeezing in enough optimised and capable tech that you get pretty good bang for your buck. In this regard, the Honor brand is quite similar to OnePlus, although it doesn't have that direct rapport with its fanbase the way OP does.

Still, Honor handsets are pretty good, and getting better; you can read our Honor 8 review here to get an idea of what we thought of the most recent Honor flagship.

The Honor 9 has had a couple of renders leaked online which show it looking quite similar to the Honor 8. The main difference seems to be the absence of a 3.5mm headphone port.

Meanwhile, the spec list is pegged as follows:

  • 5.2in FullHD (1080p) Display,
  • Kirin 960 Processor
  • 32GB or 64GB  UFS 2.0 Onboard Storage
  • Possible MicroSD Support
  • No 3.5mm Headphone Jack - Therefore Type-C USB?
  • Both 4GB and 6GB RAM Rumoured
  • Dual-sensor Primary Camera: 22MP + 12MP Monochrome
  • 3,000mAh+ Battery
